10 MUST-READ INTERVIEW TIPS FROM A P&G HR LEADER
GIORGIO SIRACUSA, VP OF HR FOR P&G EUROPE
I still vividly remember the day I walked into P&G’s offices in Rome as a fresh graduate for my interview, a bundle of nerves and excitement. I had interviewed for several graduate jobs already, but this was the one I wanted. I knew P&G’s international pedigree and reputation for leadership development.
Reflecting now, I was given a sneak peak of the company’s leadership prowess that day. My hosts were two young associate brand managers: Gianni Ciserani (now Global Group President of P&G’s largest businesses – Baby Care, Fabric & Home Care) and Daniela Riccardi (now CEO of Baccarat), and my final interview was with then Italy Marketing Director, Antonio Belloni (now Group Managing Director of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). Three business giants and perfect examples for any young leader to follow.
Now, as Vice President of Human Resources for P&G Europe, it is exciting for me to see the next generation of young talent stepping into our offices for the first time for their big moment. The world of business and our company has transformed beyond recognition since my interview, but this fundamentally human moment between you and our recruitment team is essentially unchanged. لكن هذه كانت المقابلة التي أريدها.
جاء في بالي حاجة وانا بقرأ إن حتى الخريج الحديث في بلد غير مصر يعاني من بعض الحاجات اللي بنعاني منها هنا ...

مطلوب من أخصائي المواد يكون عى علم بحركة الخامات في المخازن؛ وبيساعده على ده تابلت أو كمبيوتر وسنسورات بتعرفه الحاجات اللي خرجت امتى وفين وبالتالي مش بيحتاج يعد بنفسه كل حاجة

I am 24 years old I come from Alexandria,
I've graduated at faculty of science, Alexandria university, chemistry department, the honoring or the special degree. I've graded excellent 3.65 / 4.00 , with rank : 15th among special degree graduates and I have been recommended to be the ideal student by chemistry department.
I am a wide-field person who either trained or experienced in different fields like oil and gas, quality, safety, chemical analysis, marketing, Photoshop design, web design, computer programming, training , teaching, educational facilities and finally ultimate proficiency in MS office programs.
I won the first prize in the in the students conference for research and innovation ,Alexandria university.

وكنت المصدر الوحيد في بعض الكورسات، يزيد على ذلك إني حالياً بحضور كورس التحليل الكيميائي الجاذب لسوق العمل، ومصمم سابقًا لكورسات ثانوية عامة تفاعلية تشرح المناهج بشكل متطور وفعال ومدرسي في ثانوية عامة كان عنده Task يعلم مدرسين إعدادي طرق التعليم فاشترى مني ال presentation وكان من إنشائي.
البحث العلمي: قائم على بحث علمي حاليًا وهو تصميم وبرمجة جهاز اسمه Afawater يستبدل خلاط وسخان المياه المنزليين ويوفر في المياه وأنابيب التوصيل وتكلفة السخان كما يقدم تجربة أكثر من رائعة للمستخدم.
مصدر قوتي هو شغفي واجتهادي وليس مهاراتي، بفضل الله أتعلم المهارات بسهولة حتى لو لا أملكها حالياً لكن عندي شغف غير عادي في التطوير والإبداع في كل شيء، ده كان سبب في الخروج من كل مرحلة من مراحل حياتي ببصمة وعلامة تحفظ اسمي كما أخرج بدرجة امتياز على الأقل رغم إني لم أكن مؤهلاً بالقدر الكافي لأي منهم على حسب كلام البعض.
مثلاً في أقرب مرحلة وهي الخدمة العسكرية : لم يكن هناك في الوحدة غير 4 لواءات – لواء رقاني على حسن إدارة الوقت ، لواء كافئني بـ 1000 جنيه مكافأة نهاية خدمة (كانوا قادة الفرقة) ، لواء مضى لي على شهادة تقدير تفيد بالكفاءة والإخلاص والتفاني في العمل وكان بأعلى درجة من درجات الرضى ، ولواء كان يطلب من متابعته أحد عساكر العمليات ، ثم يقول له (لا ، هات العسكري خالد).
في المرحلة اللي قبلها : الكلية - كان شيء غريب جدًا إني أكون ال 15 على القسم فقط وإني أحصل على تقدير امتياز فقط لأن اللي جاب امتياز لم يكن له عمل تطوعي ولا أعمال إبداعية في العملية التعليمية ولا الاشتراك في نقابة المهن العلمية ولا عملوا موقع خاص بشئون الطلاب لقسم الكيمياء، كانت رئيسة القسم متوقعة إني هكون معيد في الكلية وكذلك منسقي الإرشاد الأكاديمي (د. محمد العطوي ود. همت البدوي) وتم ترشيحي لمسابقة الطالب المثالي لكلية العلوم.
في النقابة – كنت عضو في اللجنة العلمية ولما عرضت السي في بتاعي على مسئول اللجنة العلمية قال لي لا أنت ليدر ، شيل member واكتب Head of media in the scientific committee, ESSP وبفضل الله كنت مثالاً جيد لكل مستجد في النقابة أثناء تغيبي لظروف الخدمة العسكرية.
في المؤتمر الطلابي السابع للبحوث والابتكارات على مستوى جامعة الإسكندرية ، بفضل الله حصلت على المركز الأول على طلاب البكالوريوس – قسم العروض التقديمية.
وقبل مرحلة الجامعة بفضل الله كنت بردو Active ولي بعض الأنشطة (إذاعة مدرسية، أنشطة تفاعلية، عمل تطوعي، رياضة كاراتيه وسباحة).
المهارات
مهارات الكمبيوتر مشرفة وفي زيادة الحمد لله.
الإنجليزي زمايلي بيتهموني إنه Excellent لكني شايفه Very good :
- في ال writing and reading : Excellent.
- في ال Listening and speaking : Very good .
حسن إدارة الوقت وضغط العمل:
- أولاً: على مستوى حياتي الشخصية فأنا راسم الزمكان الخاص بي من خلال Outlook calendar اللي مكتوب فيها جميع مواعيدي وخططي والأحداث والمهام وكل ما هو له ميعاد وبالتالي يسمح لي إني أكون محافظ على ذاكرتي من الأحداث السابقة وعلى دراية بما يجب عليّ فعله في الوقت الحالي ومستعد لتحديد جميع المواعيد المستقبلية وعلى معرفة بالوقت غير المشغول من الفترات القادمة.
- ثانياً: فعلت هذا النظام في الجيش وهم حالياً في الوحدة يعملون به، فائدته لفريق العمل إن الشخص حتى وإن كان في أجازة فإن مهامه وتوصياته موجودة في هذا الزمكان وبالميعاد المطلوب ، كل وقت يقوم البرنامج بتنبيه العسكري الموجود بما عليه أن يفعله الآن.
- أفضل عدم التفاعل مع الضغط النفسي وبالتالي أحاول خلع جذوره من خلال حسن إدارة الوقت.
سهولة وسرعة التعلم نتيجة المجهود المبذول.
- من المبادئ: وقت الجد لا تبذل المجهود الذي يعتبره الناس قاسيًا ولكن انتقل إلى ما يعتبره الناس مستحيلاً.
- من التاريخ:
o الحمد لله يوجد لدي القاعدة المهاراتية التي يحتاجها الأشخاص للتعلم وبالتالي لا ينقصني في التعلم إلا اتخاذ القرار والبدء في التنفيذ.
o لقد ترقيت في الجيش بعد 18 يوم فقط من وجودي في المكان والذي لا يعتبر قانونياً واضطررت للانتظار 3 شهور حتى تنفيذ الترقية، قد يظهر هذا سرعة التأقلم والتعلم والانخراط في المجتمع حتى وإن كان غريبًا بالنسبة للمعظم.
حل الأزمات والتخطيط واتخاذ القرارات.
- قبل الأزمة : أحاول دائمًا أن يكون التخطيط بناءً على ال Worst case based thinking وبالتالي تقل فرصة حدوث الأزمة خصوصًا في المجتمع ال systematic ويفضل عمل scanning لنقاط القوى ومستوى التدريب لدى أعضاء الفريق مما يساعد في التخطيط السريع أثناء الأزمات وكيفية استغلال الطاقات بشكل عادل ودقيق.
- أثناء الأزمة: العمل بهدوء وإعطاء الفرصة للتفكير الفعال ، العمل على عدم انتقاص الكفاءة في الالتزامات أثناء حدوث الأزمة ، التخطيط لاستخدام الطاقات والكفاءات في المكان المحدد والدقيق لها ، اتخاذ قرارات حاسمة بعد تخيل الصورة الكاملة للموقف.
تحليل البيانات.
- كل أمور حياتي قبل بدئها تكون عبارة عن شيت إكسيل محسوب فيها كل المؤثرات، فمثلاً أنا اليوم هنا إذن من أسبوع كنت عامل شيت إكسل فيها العمل في الشركة وتأثيره على وقتي ومادياتي وشغلي ال part-time وتأثير اختلاف ساعات العمل والمواصلات والنوم وهل أستطيع التطوير من نفسي أثناء عملي بالشركة أم لا وهكذا. أعمل save للشيت وأنساه وأحتفظ بالقرار فقط.
بفضل الله لم أنسى العمل التطوعي والمدني :
أنا مسئول الميديا في اللجنة العلمية لنقابة المهن العلمية بالإسكندرية.
قدمت العديد من الخدمات داخل النقابة (الإشراف على الكورسات ، تنظيم الحفلات لكبار العلميين ، ... )
كنت عضو في اللجنة الأكاديمية لفريق عمار في كلية العلوم جامعة الإسكندرية ، متميز في تلخيص المناهج لزملائي.
الاشتراك في مبادرة save trees المسئولة عن تقديم خدمات مكتب الإرشاد الأكاديمي لقسم الكيمياء من خلال الإنترنت بدلاً من العمل الورقي المعتاد مما يوفر الوقت والجهد والأموال على الطلاب ومنسقي الإرشاد الأكاديمي ويرفع من مستوى الخدمة المقدمة.
غير الكالندر والإكسل : عندي موقع أعتبره السكرتير الخاص بي وطبيبي النفسي :
أقوم فيه بحفظ وجهات نظري وذكرياتي المطلوب الاستفادة منها.
مقسم إلى مواضيع لكي أرجع إليه في أي وقت فأحصل على المعلومة الكاملة لموضوع معين. مثال: عندي موضوع في المنتدى اسمه P&G interview به كل الأشياء التي تدربت عليها من أجل التشرف بحضور هذه المقابلة، سأقوم بالرجوع إليه عندما أحتاج مهارات الإنتر فيو مجدداً.
